January 4, 2012

How in the world did the second of January become a holiday? Just ridiculous. Haha I don't have a ton of time, we have to go to District Meeting in like 10 minutes. Anyways, nothing terribly exciting happened this week. For some reason, both me and Elder S.n are getting really tired all the time. It makes it really hard to focus and keep going. But we know that it's super important to do our best and let the Lord make up the rest. So we are struggling, but we know that eventually we will see some success. My Spanish has improved dramatically. President Bowen was so right when he told me to keep going when I told him that things were really tough. It is amazing sometimes. Me and Elder Z. went on exchanges last week and he told me that I spoke almost perfect Spanish all day. So things are looking up in that regard. But other than that we just keep plugging away.
How was your week?
Pretty good. We had a breakdown in planning, so we weren't able to email on Monday so we have to do it now and I don't much time.

We finally received your Christmas card. Did they come back to you and
you had to send again?
Nope.

Would you like me to get you some new towels so you don't have to worry
about that?
No. Haha they have stores in California. I am more than able to adquire my own.

Any new contacts this week?
We met this old dude who was investigating the church about a year ago. We found him in the area book and decided to go visit him. We then come to find out that his wife died about 2 weeks ago. So it was kinda crazy how the timing worked out on that, we are now teaching him and we are going to commit him to baptism today.

What did you do on New Year's Eve?
Worked and slept haha.

Something special or memorable that happened this week?
I had exchanges with Elder Z. this week, it was really fun to be back with him and to show him how much I have improved in the work. We had a really successful day too so that was good.

Tell me about someone special you spent time with this week that you
will always remember from you mission.
I think I'll just always remember certain members more than anything. Some of them are really so nice and take really good care of us. To name a few, the Swenson family, the Altamiranda family, the Ramirez family. I think the people are definitely the best part of the whole thing.
